Candid shots of the last few months

Let's add some more photos of you.  You change daily it seems.  I am amazed at how different you look to me when I have gone 4-5 days without seeing you.  Do you have any idea, little girl, how much we love you?

The first one is you in your new pool.  Aunt Bug brought it to us one weekend when she was here.

And of course, you found some old curlers in my bathroom and wanted to try out your hairdo.

Here's the backside of it - you didn't leave them in long, you said they hurt.
This is a picture you made in church one Sunday for Mommy.  She had a migraine headache and you wanted to do something to help her feel better.

Fun with the Garden Hose - you love the water.
Here you are in a rare moment - sleeping.  Tuckered out from all the play.  I love you, Jasey!
You are under there somewhere,  I see your hair and your bottom.  If your bottom shows, you will say "Bottoms Out"....a playschool comment.
In this photo you are making mommy her Mother's Day Card.  You put a lot of energy into it.
This is the Mother's Day Program at First United Methodist Church pre-school.  You like to go there.
On the kitchen counter - Paw Paw is vacuuming and you hate the vacuum cleaner.  You are scared of it.  Probably the ONLY thing that you are scared of.
You are trying on dance shoes and a dance outfit.  You can't wait to begin classes in the Fall.
Packed your suitcase and ready to go...
Baw Paw's jeep is tempting you.  Looks like a nice place to rest.
Aunt Wendy and you at the Easter Egg Hunt at Graham Friends Church 2012.
Your "Big Comfy Couch" outfit.  Dance, dance, dance.
Baw Paw made you a fenced in backyard at your house on Banks Street.  He loves you Jasey.  You are the little girl he never had.
 Working on your fence.
You climbed up into the tailgate of Baw Paw's jeep!

Wonderful Times With Jasey

I could write here daily about all the blessings that Jasey brings to my life.  It's awesome to be 60 and get the chance to interact with a toddler again - grow with them, have fun, teach, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.  My days are probably more stressful than they have ever been, but somehow the priority of  Jasey and her time rules anything else.  Everything else doesn't matter and for the first time ever, I GET THAT!  We baked cookies for Christmas with Baw Paw Mark and had so much fun.  Flour all over that pretty black dress, icing over the mouth, things were just fun as I watched her intently pushing on the cookie cutters and then squatting in front of the stove to check on the status of her work.  2010 has been a year filled with memories that will last my lifetime.  Thanks be to God for his many blessings in my life.

Oh Dear, I have not written in quite a while and so much has happened.  Jasey, it is mid June, so you are now 3 years and 3 months old.  You are a joy to be around.  God has blessed my life so much by having you in it.  We spend about one day each week together and usually one night.  I hope that will increase in the Fall when I plan to begin drawing my Social Security in addition to my State Retirement.  You will be in playschool 3 days a week this coming year and you are going to take dance one night.  You love the Barbie movies that we have - you love to sing and dance.  You are quite the strong willed little girl.  That is a good thing in this world today.  Jason has begun to get you some each week.  I pray that he will step forward and be a positive influence in your life.  Here are some recent photos of you.    These pictures were all made at the Burlington City Park.  Some by a professional photographer.  Funny, that's what your Paw Paw is, but it's like they always say - when it's something you do for a living, you never do it for your family.  Anyway, the lady made some good shots of you.  The other two are on a recent visit that you and I made to the Park to play while Mommy worked at the YMCA.  We have so much fun together.

Fun At Gammy's

I look so forward to the time that I get to spend with you Jasey.  When you get old, you realize just how important TIME is with a child.  Parents are often too busy trying to make a living and get through the day to share quality time with their children; but when you are older you realize that it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.  Just making memories with a child.

Life is changing

You will be three in March - where has the time gone.  You have begun to spend two half-days a week with your dad.  I know that children need both their parents and hope that both of them can lay aside the hurt from their relationship and be there for you.  Your mommy has signed you up for three mornings a week at the FUMC in the Fall.  You will begin to get use to more and more time in a structured environment.  That is healthy for any child that is going to be going to school - it happens whether you are ready or not.  To be used to it really makes the transition easier.  I hate to see kids whose time is all filled up with "have to" events though.  You still spend Saturday afternoon and nights with us and go to church with us on Sunday.  You have made Mark and my older years so much fun.  We get out in the yard with you and play whenever the weather permits.  This weekend you were kicking a ball around all over the yard.  Mark is great with you.  I hope that when you choose a mate way down the road, you look for someone like Mark.  Your life will be much better because of it.  So many men are into themselves and have little to give.  This will be the biggest decision you ever make.   Here are a few new shots of you.  We love you thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis much and then some.

This weekend we got out the crayons and colored the house that Aunt Dianne and Uncle Rick gave you for Christmast.  You have spent a lot of time inside the house with your baby dolls and with Mason and your blankets.  We get in too....but honestly I'm getting a little stiff to hit and floor and crawl inside.

As always, Mommy loves you and is watching you!

Purple Penguin and New Year's Celebration

You spent New Year's Eve with us....here you are with your umbrella getting ready to go to McDonalds.  We ran into our neighbors there with their two granddaughters who are 4. You guys had a good time playing in the play yard - and Baw Paw Mark....did too!

You figured out in a hurry that with your shoes/socks on you couldn't climb up the slide backwards. so they were off and thrown over before we could stop you.

We have found a wonderful yogart place called the Purple Penguin, but you can't say that, so you tell us you want to go to Happy Feet.  We have spent LOTS of time and $$ there; but it's wonderful!

Jasey, I am always with you, I'm just behind the camera at every place.  So if you read this at some time, you just know that Gammy Sue was capturing memories of you!

Christmas 2011

Here you are opening blocks that stack inside on another.  You had something similar way back but never played with them...so Gammy got rid of them.  Your favorite thing is to take the food cans out of the pantry and stack them up as tall as you can.  So, I bought another set.    We'll see.

You're just tuckered out from all the places you have been.  So you find a sunny spot by Mason and you drag your blanket and your pillow (and your Christmas tree).

Ahhhh.....this is the life!

Gammy was sick with bronchitis and sinus infection; as were you over the holidays.  So we didn't bake like we did last year.  We did bake though, we cheated and spooned already made up dough from your preschool sales and had cookies that way.  I love you, Jasey!

Let's See What's Happened

You started in the "2" class at First United Methodist Church in the Fall of 2011.  You are going to the same place that your mommy went and believe it or not, the same teacher, plus a second teacher that your mommy knew from high school are there and you are in their room.  I was able to go with your class, your Mommy and Aunt Wee Wee to see Disney on Ice.  It was so much fun.  Here are some shots of us.  Girl's Day Out - long overdue.  I don't know who had more fun, you or us.

Earlier in the school year, me, you and Mommy went with the FUMC to the Children's Museum in Greensboro - Curious George exhibition was there and we had fun.  You loved the place .....busy...busy....busy.

Taking charge of things........

Time for a snack after looking at all the things.

Updating being a Gammy!

It has been a really long time since I've written in this blog.  I'm enjoying being a Gammy more now than ever as Jasey is able to communicate with me and we have quite interesting conversations.  There has been so much stress these past two years; but finally the court battle has come full circle and some things are settled.  I only hope that this works for Jasey and that she is not "rushed" with spending time only to find herself put on the back shelf when the weather clears and he can move on to his other things.

Jasey you are the sweetest little girl.  Here are shots I've taken of you the last couple of weeks, including a video from your dance yesterday:  sorry but Gammy was using the camera instead of the video camera and can't remember to keep the  camera righted.

Pictures:    You're too big for the baby bed, really but you like to get in the one in the nursery at church.
We were in the nursery one Sunday and someone else was preaching.  Didn't take you but a minute to ask where "Pastor Mark" was.  Who would have thought you would have noticed.    You are really into Barbie videos - or anything that involves dancing.  The Elmo videos are long gone - you prefer videos with a story.  You got an Nintendo DS for Christmas and I didn't think you would be able to work it; but you surprised me.  Love those gadgets.
